As with all corporate events, having the correct sound equipment, as well as good staging, lighting and audio visual equipment, is crucial to its success. If delegates cannot hear properly because the sound is either muffled, too quiet or distorted, then they will very quickly lose interest and the corporate message will be lost.

Sound hire for corporate events
A large event, for delegates up to 500, in terms of the sound equipment needed, requires a lot of thought and planning. The speakers need to be loud enough so that delegates can hear at the back and yet not too loud so that the delegates at the front of the room are not deafened. Different rooms have different sound absorption levels and we ensure that we provide the right equipment and test the sound levels to minimise any potential issues.
An example of a large corporate event
Reeds Rains, Estate and Letting Agents, has been a client of Tornado Event Hire for a number of years. The Reed Rains Conference tours the UK every year, exhibiting in towns such as Harrogate, Manchester, Haydock, London and Leicester. As well as providing the audio visual equipment, we provided all the sound equipment for the tour too. This particular picture is of the Reeds Rains annual Conference at AJ Bell Stadium, Manchester. The sound desks were set so that we could ensure the sound was consistent throughout the room, not only in terms of levels, but also in terms of clarity.

How will everyone be able to hear?
We can position speakers throughout the room to ensure that the sound levels are consistent from wherever a delegate sits.
Will there be an echo?
We will set and test the sound levels to ensure any distortion such as white noise and echoes are minimised.

Sound event hire for conferences
In terms of sound, a medium-sized event (between 50 -150 delegates) has similar issues to a large event, namely all delegates need to receive the same high level of sound experience, in a potentially large room. The challenge is to create the same level of sound throughout, allowing for echo and sound absorption. As with all events that we hire equipment to, we sit down with our customers and discuss the best solutions for the event.
An example of a medium-sized event
We were asked to provide the sound equipment for a corporate fun day for Aragon Housing Association, Flitwick, Bedfordshire. We supplied a surround sound system for the event which included 10 speakers, amplifiers and four radio microphones. The event went off fantastically – despite the grey weather – and the client was very happy with the sound equipment.

Will I need more than one speaker for my event?
The number of speakers you will require will depend on the number of delegates and the size of the room you are holding the event in. We can help guide you through the size and number of speakers required.
Will the sound at my event echo?
We test your sound equipment thoroughly prior to your event to ensure that distortion and echo are kept to a minimum.

Sound hire for meetings and small events
Some meetings (of up to 50 people) don’t require any extra sound equipment at all. However, in some scenarios, sound equipment such as media players and microphones will greatly assist the speaker conveying the corporate message to the delegates.
An example of a small event
The NHS, Greenwich organised an event in Gordon Square, Woolwich, London. We supplied the stage, PA with microphones and a sound desk for the music, which we plugged into our small four channel desk. The picture shows a small outdoor PA with a leaded microphone on a stand and two speakers. We provide PA packages for both indoor and outdoor events.

I want to play some music with my presentation – what equipment will I need?
We can provide CD/DVD players that are compatible with your computers to enable you to play sound along with your presentation.
Do I need a microphone?
Depending on the room size, whether it’s indoor or outdoor, and the number of delegates, a microphone may help. Contact us to discuss whether it would be useful for you.
